Industry analysis focused on the Middle East market indicates that the region has become one of the fastest-growing areas globally for electric chain hoists and related industrial lifting equipment. By 2026, the Middle East is projected to account for over 18% of global hoist imports, driven primarily by mega-projects such as Saudi Arabia’s NEOM, the expansion of Etihad Rail in the UAE, and LNG infrastructure upgrades in Qatar. According to the 2025 Gulf Construction Industry Report (by Ventures Middle East), the local lifting and hoist market segment is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8% through 2030. Demand extends beyond the oil and gas sector; logistics hubs in Dubai South, manufacturing parks in Oman, and new energy projects across the Gulf are also consistently fueling demand.

The report highlights a shift away from purely price-driven procurement decisions. A 2024 survey by the Middle East Lifting Equipment Association (MELAA) revealed that 73% of procurement managers rank “supplier technical support capabilities” among their top three decision-making factors—surpassing price in importance—thereby creating opportunities for suppliers capable of providing localized, systematic after-sales service. Regarding technological trends, Frost & Sullivan predicts that by 2026, over 25% of new overhead cranes ordered in Gulf nations will feature IoT-enabled electric hoists. These systems monitor motor temperature, brake wear, and load status in real-time to facilitate predictive maintenance. Simultaneously, the UAE’s “Net Zero 2050” strategy and Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” are driving stricter energy efficiency standards, with hoists equipped with IE4 ultra-high-efficiency motors increasingly appearing in tender specifications for government projects. Lightweight design is another key trend; the report cites the emergence of 2-ton aluminum alloy electric chain hoists weighing only 28 kg—compared to approximately 45 kg for traditional steel models—making them easier to transport and install in locations such as remote desert camps.
